Westcliff is known for excellent up close and personal viewing of whales and their calves from the cliff paths and various viewing points around Walker Bay below, whilst relaxing on benches amidst extraordinary street art and sculptures. This suburb is centrally located to enjoy all that Hermanus Central and the New Harbour has to offer. Visit Abagold, an abalone farming company, or SANSA, (South African National Space Agency) originally established as the Hermanus Magnetic Observatory, in 1941, to understand and measure the earth's magnetic field due to the fact that Hermanus is magnetically clean. SANSA has built partnerships with international organisations, grown capacity and infrastructure to do world-class space science research.
